Dr. Liz - Rescue Remedy is a liquid tincture best placed in the water bowl(s) or on the paws where it can be licked off by the cat ... the dosage is 4 drops, no more. Walnut is for handling life's changes and transitions, including moving to a new home. The application is the same, but the dosage is 2 drops not 4.
Dr. Liz - Maggie, if she's nervous about Steve, it's best to have him not try to approach her just yet. Give her time.
karenamarc - It must be very scary for her. She might think you are going to hurt her because of some bad experiences.

Dr. Liz - Maggie, everything would be new for her. So describe sounds, smells, your house, etc. to her. "This noise is the UPS Truck." "This sound is my boiling teapot" or whatever is true for you. Her entire world has changed now.
Maggie - She's 4 and has been given up twice by this older woman
karenamarc - If she is feral, it will take lots of patience and time.
Dr. Liz - Maggie, it's good to know when she feels safe. For her, she's safe at night. A lot of cats are like that actually.

Dr. Liz - Garfila, that happens sometimes. The way I fixed that, was by downloading FireFox's Mozilla browser. I log onto the chat that way.

jane - Ya'll - I really need you prayers tonight. I am going to court tomorrow for a local case (this is the VERY short version) where a man took his horse into a lake and made the horse swim and swim - the horse kept trying to get out of the lake and the guy said - this horse wants to swim (with full saddle and rider) - people were screaming at him to let the horse get out of the lake - he said - I have 5 more like him at home.......this guy is a "horse trainer" and farrier and "trains" German shepherds for the local state police. None of this ever got in the newspaper - they would not print it even though all of the info was sent to them.

jane - I just need everyone's prayers for justice... talked to the DA who said that he needed to be charged with "aggrevated stupidity." They say that he was drunk and just showing off...
karenamarc - Sounds like he is a cruel trainer to me.
Dr. Liz - What's coming up here, is to pray that awareness of animal abuse be made manifest, that the perpetrator be remanded in an appropriate way, and that awareness of the need for better and more humane treatment of animals, and laws protecting them, come forth.

jane - This is Louisiana - where I live, the animals are supposed to be protected by the state laws from people like this - but law enforcement just does not take these cases seriously...

jane - I have found that going in through Dr. Liz's web site solves a lot of problems.
Dr. Liz - I've received a couple of emails from people sharing places where one can donate funds. AARP is involved because many of the grandparents in Haiti are affected, they are the care-takers for the children, whose parents have in great part succumbed to AIDS. Also, the national food bank is taking donations.

Dr. Liz - Karen, I have a new insight on suffering, and why it is part of the human condition.
karenamarc - I am very anxious to hear about your insight.
Dr. Liz - It's something I've never quite understood ... why suffering is so strongly a part of the human experience.
Dr. Liz - For a while, I felt that it was to make us stronger, more compassionate, more loving people.

Garfila - But suffering seems to play a big role in who we are
Dr. Liz - I've recognized for quite a while, that we have the opportunity as humans to learn in two ways ... we can learn through suffering, or we can learn through insight. The choice is ours.
RosieTara - It would at least make somehow sense.....
Dr. Liz - But this still didn't answer the question of why so much suffering exists.
Garfila - and that of course depends on which way we go with it (emotionally)
jane - I don't do well with too much suffering - it makes me want to crawl under the sheets and not come out so everything will blow over me!
Dr. Liz - And as a student of ancient history, I've noticed that the degree of suffering in the human condition hasn't seemed to change much over time.
Dr. Liz - Jane ... LOL!!!
RosieTara - How does one choose ? Liz
karenamarc - Even when people tell us otherwise, most of us want to do things our way. I did.
jane - I think we have discussed before here that humans have not learned well at all from the past and keep repeating hisotry.
Dr. Liz - Jane, we can look for the resonance, the good in something, that otherwise might have occurred to us as a condition of suffering. In this way, we can gain the insight in the situation.
Dr. Liz - Jane, this is certainly what I see. At the high spiritual levels, all great spiritual masters know this ... that we keep repeating history ... we repeat the mental/emotional/spiritual history, not necessarily the exact same "physical manifest" history.
RosieTara - Hmmm interesting thought !

Dr. Liz - The insight I had recently, is that when we suffer, we will at some point in our lives, be given the opportunity to be of service to someone else who is suffering in that same way.
Dr. Liz - And by being of service from our experience, we will be given the opportunity to ease the other's suffering. Or not.
karenamarc - I have noticed that, too.

RosieTara - You learn the best by teaching somebody what you have learned !!!

jane - Dr.Liz - that is so true! When we have been through the same thing, we can so better emphasize with someone else and help them - or at least plant a seed...
Dr. Liz - RT, or by helping from a direct experience.
RosieTara - I use that in with my students on a totally different level ....but it works
jane - Has anyone else seen situations where you "know" what is going to happen with other relationships - you see "patterns" and can pretty much figure out what will happen. Or is it just experience with life?
Dr. Liz - So a question we can ask ourselves, when we are experiencing suffering, is, what am I learning, in this situation, and how can I retain and apply that learning, when it comes up for me as a possibility to do so?

jane - My Mother was a very wise person - it just took me 40 years to figure out what a wonderful person she was - once I stopped "fighting" her and resenting her.

jane - Karenamarc - that is what I have heard - life here on Earth is kindergarden for us to learn lessons. One of my problems is patience!

Dr. Liz - Dee, yes. For example, me, now, I am having an experience of suffering here ... physical suffering ... I "somehow" broke out with shingles ... first time in my life ... unbelievably painful ... I've been wondering for over a week now, what is the learning here? Why this pain? Neurological pain ... and I made a connection today.
karenamarc - So we learn from each other and pass the knowledge on. But do we listen?
RosieTara - My problem is that I trust to easily
Dee&kids - it is a comfort to know that our suffering does have a meaning..and if that meaning is too help assist others in healing...how wonderful
Garfila - I was telling my grandmother that most people agree that emotional suffering is much worse then physical. Bruises fade, but the memory remains the same
Dr. Liz - I realized that I can actually make the pain worse, by certain thoughts of anxiety or worry. And that I can make it better, by thoughts of calmness and peace.
jane - Oh my gosh, Dr. Liz - my brother went through that - it was VERY painful...

Dr. Liz - Jane, I've heard from others, how painful it is ... now I know personally for myself.

Dr. Liz - So ... note to self ... be more diligent in doing what I know works in terms of meditation, proper diet, exercise, etc.
Dee&kids - I just got a book that maps out the body for compresses to be used with the remedies

Dr. Liz - Dee, I'd be interested in some help with this. I've discovered some things here that work ... I'm interested in more things that work.
jane - Dr. Liz - I don't know why, but I sort of think of you as being "above" physical ailments.....because you are such a healer...
Dee&kids - it is amazing how our bodies are So affected by our thoughts...but the key is knowing that and changing our thoughts to balance our bodies

kikfrd - It's funny-earlier this week I decided it was time for me to hunker down and eat better, meditate, watch my thoughts and actions and threw in a couple of yoga moves and I tell you-all this healthy living laid me up on the couch with an upset belly :-)

jane - Oh mygosh - I am having such a problem getting back on a healthy track - I am so stressed out at work and eating and eating - I just want to scream - my joints are aching for the first time in my life and I am feeling so "CREAKY" - I so need to get back to health!! I have gained weight and am miserable...
Dr. Liz - Dee, I had gotten myself into a very unhealthy rising and sleeping pattern... staying up late ... certainly slept well once I got to sleep ... but then felt sluggish in the morning. I realize now this is my body telling me I have a spleen deficiency.

Dr. Liz - So one of the things I've been doing, is taking baths in apple cider vinegar. It's the fastest way I know, to help balance an acidic body.
Dr. Liz - The other thing I'm doing, is no wheat, salt, sugar, or any of the things I ate over the Holidays that I thoroughly enjoyed and also knew better than to eat. :)

jane - What about all the info you read - that if your body if in balance - alkaline versus acid - then disease does not generally occur - if you are more alkaline - it is not good - but that cancer cells cannot grow in an alkaline environment?

Dr. Liz - 1 - 2 cups of apple cider vinegar in a tub, soak for 30 minutes or until you feel it start to wick stuff out. You'll feel it.

Dr. Liz - Dee, can't touch the affected skin. Too painful. It's so hot it feels like I’m placing my palm on a lighted burner on an electric stove. Amazing, never knew that was possible, for the skin to feel that hot!

jane - This guy is a "horse triner" and farrier - AND he trains German Shepherds for the state police......he was drinking before a trail ride and rode his horse into a lake - he was whopping and hollering (as only one in Louisiana can do!) and would not let the poor horse get out of the lake - the horse drowned.

jane - we even reported it to PETA - they said they could not do much for an already dead animal - they try to work with helping the animals that are still alive.
