Dr. Liz - I kept the name, Severino, after our divorce, for two reasons. One, I didn't want the confusion for my daughter in school, with me having a different last name. Two, I had already achieved a lot of recognition in my career under the name Elizabeth Severino.
GirlyGirls - Faulty furnace repair, slow carbon monoxide for close to two months, then a big bang beginning of February. in many ways I'm feeling better than I have in months, but other stuff is going on, does a number on the brain

GirlyGirls - I worked with a woman in the city who explained to me there is a great power one feels in naming a child. . .she drawled, "you can name your child (pronounced) Shareeka and spell it C-A-T if you want, and everyone has to go along with it. Kind of like kikfrd being pronounced Marianne! LOL
GirlyGirls - I did have a CO detector, one of the plug ins, but the Fire Dept told me they've been trying to get them taken off the shelves because they don't work. . .unless you have a plug in your ceiling. Once the CO gets that low, you are already dead.
GirlyGirls - Nothing on the packaging tells you that.
GirlyGirls - Most plugs are near the floor. CO rises.

Dr. Liz - Dee, it was wonderful. I speak Italian, I had 9 years of Latin, I majored in Latin at Vassar, I've studied Roman architecture, Italian music, Italian art, Italian sculpture, I've been to Italy, I love the REAL Italian food (all fresh picked from local vegetable gardens, etc.) ... I was in heaven today either seeing the flowers and the pools and the fountains and the architecture, and/or, remembering my Italian connections.
Dr. Liz - GG, my CO2 detectors are near the ceiling.

Dr. Liz - The instructors with my CO2 detector say to put it near any possible source of CO2 leakage, especially, in the furnace area, and to mount it 6 inches below the ceiling. So that's what I did.

Dee & the kids - my dog Jake had such troouble getting his nails cut, he practically threw himself off the vets table last time, they told me he needed to be sedated in the future...

Dr. Liz - For Fannie, you would either pop them into her mouth under her tongue, or dissolve them in a little bit of distilled water and syringe them into her mouth.
Dee & the kids - he was fine...I used potato chips (his favorite thing in the world....lol), but he was rewarded after he let me touch his foot for 1 second....
Joanne - That's sort of what I did with my dogs but none have been difficult or afraid

Dee & the kids - Jake was terrible, Dr Liz said he was cut once...(he's a rescue, we've had him just over a year- he's 5 now- pit-lab mix)
Dr. Liz - GG, depends on whether you get Nelsons' or Borion, but usually, it's 3 to 5 pellets, 3 times a day, 10 minutes away from food.
Joanne - My problem is I never cut them short enough!! Any hints with black nails?

Dr. Liz - Joanne, I can't generalize like that. I have to ask each dog.
Dr. Liz - Joanne, to help them, the first thing you do, is find out what the laws are in the jurisdiction where the chained aninmals are.
Dr. Liz - Then you find out what the animal abuse laws are, in the jurisdiction, where the animals are.
Joanne - Can you ask a black lab I made friends with today? Or do you have anything general you can say?
Dr. Liz - The fastest way, is to contact animal control.
kikfrd - I think she's doing better but she has that sick looking fur right now. The blood results came back in and he says that there has not been any significant worsening of the kidney values but there was an increase in white blood cells which indicated to him an infection or inflamation somewhere in her body. She's now on Clavamox
Dr. Liz - Animal conrol officers know the laws for the various jurisdictions. For example, in some areas, it is legal to have an animal chained as long as it has access to shelter, for example, a dog house.
Dee & the kids - Joanne- I recently realized that it is an individual experience for each dog, as Dr Liz recently adopted Mr. Smudge from a shelter, and he actually LIKEd it there!...I was shocked to hear that
Dr. Liz - In others, it isn't.
Dr. Liz - For some dogs, being chained outside is better than being cooped up inside because they hate being inside.
Joanne - I believe it's ok to chain if shelter is provided.
Dr. Liz - For some dogs, being chained is the only thing they know, so they can't even visualize another reality.
GirlyGirls - :-( Liz..
Dr. Liz - Joanne, it depends. In some communities it's illegal to chain a dog outside in certain weather conditions ... either too hot, or too cold.
Dr. Liz - Interestingly, Joanne, YOU HAVE MORE RIGHTS AS A PRIVATE CITIZEN, in animal abuse situations, than you would if you were an organization or a group. Always remember this.
Cheryl & kids - I rescued a dog that had issues with being outdoor all the time, severely abused and it took awhile for her to adjust to indoor life--I found out recently that she has cancer, but has already lived past their live expectancy for her and she looks well and happy
Dr. Liz - So if you bring changes, or have cause to bring charges, you will be listened to more quickly.

Joanne - I'll check on it. I haven't seen any dogs being abused. All are in good weight. I just imagine they're so lonely.
Dr. Liz - Mr. Smudge, I have learned, was mostly outside. He spent most of his time in a truck. He's only now begining to get used to being inside.
Dr. Liz - I meant, "charges" ... if you bring "charges" ... as an individual, you have more rights.

Dr. Liz - Marge, from what Mr. Smudge told me, there was a huge, loud fight, between his former person, the aforementioned male, who senses as being in his twenties, and an older woman ...
Joanne - Has he come into your life to teach something?
Cheryl & kids - Dr. Liz, since this week is continued on the topic from last sesson, do you have further insight on the topic?
Dr. Liz - As near as I can tell, the male was seriously underfeeding Mr. Smudge ... feeding him junk food, scraps, etc. ... he was severely underweight ... and from what I can tell, the woman who was fighting with the male, might have been his mother or some other person who had some authority ... because she took the dog away from the male, and took him to the shelter and turned him in ... Mr. Smudge weighed about 30 pounds when he was turned in ... the shelter put some weight on him, he was 42 pounds when I got him, still VERY underweight ... he's 48 pounds now, and still thin ....

Dr. Liz - Joanne, definitely. His first lessons have been about degrees of gentleness. He's the gentlest dog I've ever met.
Dr. Liz - He's also a very strong dog emotionally.

Cheryl & kids - Dr. Liz...quick question...I'm having an issue with Taki and her eye--we've been to the vet, but they didnt find anything...I'm concerned something is going on...could you ask her quickly what she's experiencing so I can lead the vet to check further?
Dr. Liz - Kikfrd, I'm not sure he knew. He's 11 years old. It may have been all he's ever known.
Dr. Liz - Another lesson I'm learning from Mr. Smudge, is how trust unfolds. His of me, and mine of him.
Joanne - I sense his presence. He has very strong energy. Is he a very old soul?
Dr. Liz - I experienced an exponential and very palpable rise in trust from him on Tuesday. I'm still trying to figure it out. I've never felt anything like it.

kikfrd - Was there an event on Tuesday that raised his trust?
Dr. Liz - Joanne, so far, I've found no soul boundaries for him. His soul may be one of those that is beyond space and time, connected in all worlds and dimensions at the same time. That may be why Tanaka and Alex picked him out for me.
Dr. Liz - Kikfrd, I asked myself the same question. I've been retracing what happend energetically on Monday and Tuesday and I'm not coming up with anything.
Joanne - How do you determine soul boundaries?
kikfrd - Dr. Liz... have you been giving him bach remedies?
Dr. Liz - Joanne, you feel them ... they're either there, or they're not.
Dr. Liz - Kikfrd, at first, yes. I made up a Senior Dog Rescue Formula.
Dr. Liz - I gave it to him for 10 days.
kikfrd - could that have been the cause of the energetic change?

Dr. Liz - It may be that Mr. Smudge has helped with this ... the new insight I've had is, when you hold yourself and another in the same field, and hold honor and equality for both perceived distinct beings, one in that same field, then that may be what we as humans can experience, as unconditional love.
Dr. Liz - I use orange for kidneys, and then cool it with a splash of blue when I'm done.
Joanne - What about thyroid?

Dee & the kids - what came to me as I meditated before this chat....I think we as humans look to FIND what is unconditional love...look to achieve it, but it is a natural state of being ("IS") rather than to try to "BE"
Dr. Liz - The kidneys get hot because of anger. Orange is a general purpose protection color that protects not only the one feelng the anger, but also, the one at whom the anger is directed. You must treat the emotion first.
Dr. Liz - Or resentment.
Dr. Liz - Dee yes.
Dee & the kids - our egos get in the way and we thin we have to find it rather than be it
Joanne - Is honor and equality an acceptance of yourself and the other entity?
Joanne - total acceptance?

Dr. Liz - Kikfrd, it just happens. One day you realize there is no boundary between yourself and one who is perceived as an "other" ... and then you suddenly know what it's like to hold both of you in the same field.
Dr. Liz - It may be easier for us to do that with our animals first, than with a person. However, you can definitely do it witha person, too.

Dr. Liz - Cheryl, it all seems to boil down to the balance of the oneness and the celebration of our uniqueness. The balance of the paradox of perceived separation in a field of One.
Joanne - No. Well for me it's a letting go.

Joanne - It's not something you can try to do. You start to accept yourself when you start examining your underlying beliefs about things.

Joanne - It's when you realize what's false that you can let it go. Then, you start to see glimmers of who you really are.

Cheryl & kids - Does that feeling come from internal or external source?
Dr. Liz - Almost all conversations of judgement come from within.
Dr. Liz - The idea to do the judging, may have its catalyst from outside the self.
Joanne - There is no striving. That is always the mistake that I make. I need to examine what is in front of me. That is the lesson to be learned. It talk me six years to learn this.
Dr. Liz - We will not even hear a conversation of judgement that is initiated outside of us, unless there is a "listening" for it, already INSIDE of us.

Joanne - Dr. Liz, I want to improve the dogs life, not make the owners give the dog up. Giving the dog up may just mean a trip to the pound.
Dee & the kids - and I guess the knowing of the Oneness of everything make us know that that diamond IS there always!

Dr. Liz - Joanne, last summer, I visited a shore community. It was almost 100 degrees outside. I saw a dog chained up outside. No doghouse. No shade. Water bowl was turned over.
Dr. Liz - No people in the house.
Dr. Liz - Dog alone.
Dee & the kids - so- untimately- get ourselves to the point of not even needed to search for the diamond, know it IS there
Dr. Liz - I went and bought a dog house.
Dr. Liz - I took the dog house to the property.
Joanne - This I will do something about, immediately!!!

Dr. Liz - And I left a note letting them know that it is illegal in New Jersey to have a dog chained up outside with no humans and no shade and without a dog house.

Joanne - I left a similar note to someone who had his dogs chained in the back of his pickup. I suggested he ask his vet about it.

Dr. Liz - And the local animal control people checked up on them later, and they had the dog inside in the air conditioning.

Joanne - yes, I can sense them but that's about it

Joanne - It's practiced in many hospitals. I believe it's the same, perhaps just taught differently.
Dee & the kids - that is GREAT...once you get an understanding of what each chakra does, and if you can sense them, you can feel where enregy is needed in a body

Joanne - I'm not disciplined enough. My mind wanders.
Joanne - Which do I tackle first?
Dee & the kids - learning reiki just gives you some structure, but I admit, that I do what "feels" right..it does include reiki techniques, but also what I feel to do
Dee & the kids - the beauty of reiki is that the energy you send, knows where to go on its own, you just set your intention to be a channel of the energy, but your totatl focus /understanding isn't critical ( i believe)
Joanne - a friend taught me accupressure. I used it on bear but I was using too much energy. I don't know when to stop.
Dee & the kids - I would suggest learning about chakras- books, internet...much info out there..
Joanne - He got too sore and didn't want me to do it anymore.
Dee & the kids - do yo meditate at all??
Joanne - so-so.
Joanne - I don't do it consistently.
Dee & the kids - reiki energy is much more subtle...you don't even need to touch the body..I recall whe I started teh energy was too much for Zoe- she would get up, move away from be about 3 feet and I would beem the energy to her...Dr Liz aksed her and she said that was where teh energy felt most comfortable
Joanne - I don't know why. I know it's important.
Dee & the kids - meditation is important, but I know that the most important thing is sending this healing love energy if it calls to you
Joanne - I found the accupressure spots on my own body by mistake. I just sense where they are. I don't need to touch to send energy.
Dee & the kids - if you meditate- things can come to you to help you modify your techniques...but also meeting others who do it and offer their techniques etc help tremendously
Joanne - I feel like I'm where I was before I quit smoking. I know I need to do it but I just can't make myself do it consistently.
Dee & the kids - that is great....
Dee & the kids - I admit, Zoe need made it very important for me to focus on, if I didnt have that, i may have started out slower
Joanne - Lots of times I'm in the ah ha spot naturally. But I need more discipline.
Dee & the kids - but when I put focus into it...it really made me feel complete..i knew in my heart that I needed to keep it up
Joanne - I'm wondering if there is something I need to learn before I'll be able to take the next step.
Dee & the kids - obviously, any dedicated training will help
Joanne - Nothing locally unfortunately.
Dee & the kids - Just pray or set your intention that you want to learn and that the appropriate teacher present, and be open to what comes

Dee & the kids - I About a year ago I started getting terrible headaches, I could not figure out what was wrong, all tests showed nothing. I went to a crystal healer who did a healing on me...after that I now can do more with my own healing...she removed a fear block in my third eye chakra that I did not know was there, she helped remove it, and my third eye must have opened more
Dee & the kids - emotional health - yes, which affects their physical health and I can sense that too
Joanne - What have you picked up?
Dee & the kids - it sounds like you have a lot of natural ability, and once you learn what you can do with it, I thnk you will find what you will gravitate to as far as where to go next
Dee & the kids - emotional issues and the physical dis-eases that have or will follow b/c of them..and I can help people to be aware of what they might be ignoring to help them heal and release

Dee & the kids - you sound like you can also send energy to others that help them release blockages in their energy centers that can help to set teh stage for physical healing
Dee & the kids - so far they do listen, though not everyone is ready to do the work...and they find their issues persits
Joanne - I'm not sure. I feel what's going out. I just don't sense the result.
Dee & the kids - just the fact that you can already feel the energy is the hardest part...just learn so "rules" and you will go far with it I feel
Joanne - Thank-you. I wonder. I suspect I'm going to use my healing ability in a very novel way. I don't think it will be traditional reiki but I don't know what it will be yet. I just keep taking one step forward.

Dee & the kids - it is just learning that where you feel the energy disruptance is where the issue sts...EX- if feel energy in the throat is "off", then you can research what the throat chakra holds, and you can know the issues associated in this place...you can then help to apply what the chakra stands for to what the person may be dong in their lives to created the energy imbalance they are suffering from
Dee & the kids - I do not just use traditional reiki weither...it has morphed over the years...i go by gut now

Dee & the kids - it tells you the emotional cause of all physical dis-eases....
Joanne - I sense your strength in this area. I'm not sure I'll be able to... No I think my strength will be psychological. My whole life has been a morph. I nevr do anything the traditional way.
Joanne - I've heard of it. I'll try to pick it up.
Dee & the kids - it helps you know that a negative enrgy pattern caused the illness, and a positive one can relsease it...allowing for physical healing...which you as a sender of energy can help with
Joanne - It's also going to have something to do with horses... maybe dogs too.

Dee & the kids - There isSo much psychological reasoning behind how to change the energy...you can send healing energy to someone, but if they do not know how to hold this shifted higher energy, they will not heal...I feel the psychological side helps others to understasn WHAT they need to do/change
Joanne - But they need to be ready ... that's the problem and also their protection.
Dee & the kids - and your focus may be horses...and I know helping animals often helps the owners of those animals too...people learn so much from animlas
Dee & the kids - right, that is why if you choose to send energy- it must be with Unconditional Love...they do with it what they choose...heal- not heal...you ssend and disconnect
Joanne - Have you heard of Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy?

Joanne - It's hard to explain. The horses help move the person's energy to help them heal.
Dee & the kids - I know that many people that i have helped have be introduced through their animals...they see healing and know there is something to it..then they are open to try it
Dee & the kids - animals often are here to helpp us elevate and heal...it is part of their contract with us while we are here
Joanne - Perhaps that is there animal's role in healing them.

Joanne - That has been the case with all my animals. They got the short end of the deal.
Dee & the kids - Dr Liz told me after Zoe's passing, that she connected with her and told me that Zoes illness was part of a sacred contract we had to help me find the path to healing in this lifetime...I always thanks Zoe for her sacrifice of her health to teach me, but Zoe was adimant through Dr Liz that I understand is was no sacrifice, but a sacred contract played out beautifully
Joanne - So much of my life that appears so randomed has turned out not to be. It's scary. It's like a movie.
