Joanne - Dr. Liz, Ruger has allergies. I had him on antibiotics. He's on a special diet but I think the ear is starting up again. I want to avoid shots. Any suggestions?
Dr. Liz - One of the things I"m considering, is a "photo album" web-site, where people can upload their pictures, and everyone can "flip through" the "photo album" ... The other option, of course, is the original idea, of creating the web-site and posting the pictures up on that.

Dr. Liz - Usually if the ears are "starting up again", it's because the diet has an allergen in it ... and also, because the ears are not being cleaned well enough or diligently enough.

Dr. Liz - Animals with allergies almost always have to be put on a raw foods diet, to control the allergies. Also, the humans must be EXTREMELY diligent in cleaning out the ears. No margin for slack, there.

Dr. Liz - Joanne, you may wish to move to a diet that has absolutely no grains in it. Often rice is okay, but if the allergies are starting up again, you may need to eliminate that, too.

Marge - Joanne ... I have a stray cat here with 2 kittens ... bought them EVO which is for mature cats AND kittens ... they are looking poorly ... EVO has only veges and protein, no grains. Worked well for a sickly stray cat that came here last year

Joanne - I had Cappi on Science Diet's ZD. That worked for him. But I was trying to get away from the preservatives.
Dr. Liz - Marge, EVO is a great product for animals with allergies. Good choice.

Dr. Liz - Abby's Mom, are you using cotton-swab tips, to clean out any "gunk" in the ear canal?
Rosie Tara - Will do....they are really nice....I love the idea of a picture book of our animal friends

Dr. Liz - RT, I love the idea, too. Does anyone know of any web-site we can build one with? I know there are some, because people have sent me links. I just don't remember WHO sent me the links! LOL!
Dr. Liz - Abby's Mom, to clean an animal's ears diligently, one must first use the solution ... then massage the ear canal for 2 to 3 minutes ... then use cotton-swab-tips to remove all residue in the ear canal. I've used as many as 30 tips for dogs sometimes. You must keep on swabbing until the cotton tip comes out totally clean.
Joanne - How deep do you go with the cotton swabs?
Dr. Liz - I've always done it twice a day, diligently. Then when no residue appears for 3 days in a row, I move to once a day. Then once a week.

Dr. Liz - Joanne, you can go gently, quite deep, in a dog's ear.
Dr. Liz - In a cat's ear, I hold back ever so slightly.
Dr. Liz - Feel it.
Dr. Liz - I've found that nothing less than that, works.

Joanne - Do you use the cotton swabs with the extra long shafts?
Dr. Liz - Abby's Mom, remember, it is VERY important to massage the ears for 2 to 3 minutes first. This helps soften the "gunk" so that you can get it out, not pack it down in further.

Dr. Liz - I need to confess, first and foremost, I'm not an expert in this topic at all. I am VERY good at sharing what the drawbacks of "efforting" are ... so I'm hoping we all learn together!

Dr. Liz - I have noticed, that there are areas in my life, which do flow ... and areas that I stress over ... even WITH my daily meditation practice! LOL!

Dr. Liz - And what's odd is, I KNOW that "letting things flow" is the "right" way to be ... I just simply don't always do it. Anyone else feel this way?

Dr. Liz - Let's share where we "effort" ... usually people have clear areas in their lives, where they "effort" ...
Rosie Tara - I think it has something o do with how much you trust yourself and you abilities...
Joanne - We didn't discuss. I'm sure they will fairly soon though

Joanne - It also has to do with letting that infernal talk start in your head.
Dr. Liz - And clear areas, where they don't ... for me, for example, everything with the wildlife habitat here, has just "flowed" ... doesn't mean it wasn't work, including installing the squirrel gym outside on a sweltering hot day ... but all of it has just flowed ...
Dr. Liz - Joanne, RT, I feel there are two parts to it. Confidence is one part. The other part is absolutely knowing ourselves ... our strengths, our weaknesses, our flaws, our honorable parts.
Joanne - To get through this time, I try to stay in the moment. Let the ego go. Then, life seems to be able to flow.
Dr. Liz - And being in NOW ... so if we know who we are, and who we aren't, and are confident about who we are, and who we aren't, and stay in now ... then it seems we don't effort. We do things, we work, we play, we sleep, we eat, but we don't really "EFFORT."

Marge - yes, the ego never helps in any area of life ... Eckhart Tolle's book 'The New Earth' is fantastic at explaining this.
Joanne - Marge, I just read it. It's great.
Dr. Liz - Another part of this, is knowing what we want... being able to image, consciously, what we want. When we can do this, against the background of the other parts of this ... the self-knowing ... then the Universe just simply delivers it up.
Abby's Mom - I am the same way, flowing, when it comes to gardening and taking care of my animal companions
Rosie Tara - The moment we are out of our routines we have to start EFFORTING...
Dr. Liz - Marge, feels like I may need to get The New Earth! Do you remember enough of Tolle's explanation, to summarize some of it here, so that we can all learn from it?

Joanne - My favorite part is when he talks about the ego being insane and always wanting more. It lives in the future and in the past and never in the now. It is in the now that we can find awareness beyond the ego. Our eternal self.
Dr. Liz - For me, it always seems to be FEAR that blocks me from flow, and puts me into efforting.
Joanne - The fear comes from the ego according to Tolle.
Abby's Mom - I practice yoga, and even though I find myself "efforting" too often than I should yoga serves as a gentle, peaceful reminder to me to stop so much "efforting"...it seems to come and go with the efforting

Marge - Liz ... there's SO much to the book ... I think it's pretty heavy, as the 'ego' is referred to throughout the entire book ... and basically how destructive it is! ... right Joanne?
Joanne - Oh yes, and he is so right.

Dr. Liz - Abby's Mom ... I do Qi Gong. That, too, helps remind me to stop "efforting" and to just "flow." So I understand how yoga can help a lot.

Joanne - Exactly what is Qi Gong?
Dr. Liz - Do you have favorite "sentences" that repeat in your minds, when you're "efforting" ... like, "I have to do this because ..." ??? That's a clear ego sentence, if ever I've heard one ... and my own ego, says it to me, a lot! LOL!
Dr. Liz - Joanne, Qi Gong is a gentle form of movement arts ... originated in China ...
Joanne - When I'm in the now, I feel energy flowing from my hands. Healing energy. That's how I quiet the mind and let go.
Marge - Liz ... the audio of A New Earth was $16. if I remember correctly on Amazon
Dr. Liz - The "qi" means "life force energy" ... and the "gong" means "work." So "qi gong" is "work" ... meaning energy work ... that moves our life force energy through and around us in health-supporting and blockage-dissolving ways.

Marge - E.T. says when one 'recognizes' that it's the Ego talking or thinking, ... that's the beginning of Being Present!
Rosie Tara - Qi Gong...I saw in Hongkong many people doing it before work in parks...looks very peaceful

Dee&HJB - Marge- recognizing that you are having those cpnversations in your head...if you can stop and witness those conversations, you realize that YOU are obesrving as a 3rd party...and you can see the ego "talking"
Dr. Liz - The $1,000,000 question is ... how do we GET from "efforting" to being in flow ... Is there a clear, simple answer, anyone?

Abby's Mom - my self-talk sends me into a real tizzy when I allow it...sometimes I just need to literally calm myself with a bath, create a soothing envirinment with dim light etc....it tends to work for me

Dr. Liz - Dee ... years ago I discovered that when we just WATCH the ego mind do its talking ... dispassionately WATCH it ... after a few minutes, it stops completely. It gets almost embarrassed at being watched, and becomes quiet.
Joanne - Be fully present in the moment. Feel it.
Abby's Mom - and I do now how to spell "environment" my fingers got away from me :)
Dee&HJB - Dr Liz- meditaion...the more we learn to listen to our inner selves, the more we rely on the flow
Dr. Liz - As with so many other things though, I don't always REMEMBER that I KNOW how to do this! LOL!
Dee&HJB - Dr Liz- yes..it stops...like a conversation between 2 people that realize someone is eavesdropping on them
Dr. Liz - Abby's Mom ... being in action, in movement, with almost anything nurturing, I"ve found, is very helpful to calming the ego-mind.
Joanne - The key seems to be recognizing where you are in your mind. And yes I've had the same experiece with the ego not wanting to be "watched"
Dr. Liz - There's a message here that I"m feeling ... the message appears to be, that when we're nurturing the planet, our animals, or ourselves, the ego mind becomes quiet ... has anyone else noticed this to be true?
Dee&HJB - Dr Liz- I think the first step is ACKNOWLEDGING that we do that...it is the importatn first step
Rosie Tara - Liz's CD about breathing is very helpful for me, too I become very calm and clear in my mind...:))
Dr. Liz - So perhaps, we're to be doing precisely that ... what nurtures ...

Dee&HJB - if we try to live our lives by knowing what we love...actively participating in our choices in life, we have a better change of loving all the aspects of our lives, thius living more in the flow
Marge - Another thing E.T. says ... and this WORKS! ... is when you can't stop your mind from the story telling and the stress it's trying to build up in your head ... BEATHE DEEPLY A FEW TIMES, and if it persists, repeat the deep breaths ... Because WHEN YOU BREATHE DEEPLY, YOU CAN'T THINK ... YOU'RE FOCUSING ON YOUR DEEP BREATHING. Then the thinking ego subsides. I've tried this when I couldn't go to sleep, and it WORKS!
Dr. Liz - So when we're coming from our hearts ... are nurturing ... are authentic ... when we're breathing ... the ego isn't there.
Abby's Mom - yes...I am most calm and peaceful when I feel as though I am conveying those properties to other living things (even myself). I think it is "in" us to care for ourselves and others

Dee&HJB - that is awesome, when the kitten "showed up", my sister's immediate thought was a returner...and Dr Liz feels it may be her skunk apssed several years ago

Joanne - I was thinking of doing a session for Ruger (for his allergies) called resonance repatterning (it cured mine) but perhaps...
sara - I just did it with my niece! it was right on target - we knew waht the kid had before the drs appt and ultrasound!!!
Dee&HJB - Jaonne- the beautiful thing with animlas is that the placebo affect isnt a factor...if they get better...it worked

Joanne - That has happened with many of my animals. Cappi just past last year -- is working on the other side. He's done much for me. Zeke is working with children.
Dee&HJB - my sister rescued from a shelter an "old" cat, he was the next cat to be put sown but the shelter, he was there so long they lost all his paperwork...we beleive he was meant to be adopted my my sister so he could live longer...he lived with her 2 years and dies Sept 11th 2001....
Joanne - Cappi left me at eight-years-old.
Joanne - Wow! Was he an angel?
Dee&HJB - Dr Liz sensed him after his passing and her said he was with my sis so he could live long enough to die on Sept 11 to help all the people crossing over front erh World aTrade Center...he needed to be a "fresh cross-over' so he could help those souls

Joanne - John Edwards said that many of the people who died in 7/11 knew when they were on the other side that they would be part of it.

Dee&HJB - Im curious where Zoe is...she was only 13...lots of medical issues through her life, cancer, diabetis, renal failure
Joanne - He died of hepatitis. He was innoculated against it but vet said it was a different strain.

Joanne - I had some experience with healing touch. I just realized on day that there were these spots on my body that did a better job of sending energy than I did. A friend showed me the points for Bear's hips (she's trained).
