Dr. Liz - He's the founder of Agape Church, a non-denominational or more corretly all-denominational spiritual growth center in Los Angeles.
Dr. Liz - He's speaking, his wife (musician) is performing, and so are the combined choirs of three of the consciousness-movement "churches" here.
Jeanne - I found out there is an Agape Center near me, but haven't visited yet
Dee & "kids" - sounds delightful
Dr. Liz - Also, he has a number of books/DVD's/etc. out now, to help people along in their spiritual pathing and growth-ing, and he's got a pretty big "back room table sales" area set up.

Dr. Liz - I found out very recently that they now Internet-Live-Broadcast their services, I believe on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings (LA Time).
Dr. Liz - So I may check one out. I've enjoyed listening to him.

Dr. Liz - And I'd feel a lot better about all of it if Mr. Smudge hadn't just pooped in my car. He told me he had to "go" "urgently" "NOW" and in the few seconds it took me to safely pull over to the side ... well ... that was enough for the poop to flow.

Dr. Liz - He feels so bad. It's so important to him to honor the house, the car, etc.

Dr. Liz - Dee, absolutely he knows. We both forgive each other.
Helen - was it any good, have not listened yet, they had the chicken soup for the soul guy on today.

Dr. Liz - He's been WAY off diet this week. He's in a good mood, a GREAT mood actually, just WAY off diet. Hunger strike for one full day. And recently all he wants to eat is what I consider only "average" food at best.
Dee & "kids" - What for Dr lIz? why the food refusal??
Dr. Liz - Like canned organic slightly cooked whole foods instead of his normal GREAT raw food diet.
Dee & "kids" - And his reason for that was....?
Helen - Corky did that to me as well, she did the raw for about a month and then started eating less and less, now she wont eat it at all, wanted kibble go figure.
Di - Isn't the dog always right?
Dee & "kids" - Luckily my guys all stick to it and LOVE it
Dr. Liz - Helen sometimes it's because they know their spleens need a rest from the raw food. I'm feeling that's what's going on here, too.
kikfrd - well no wonder he had an accident in the car! that's what that food can do! :-)
Dee & "kids" - Dr Liz- BTW my Niko got out again, only this time I didnt panic, send out the "message" for him to return home, and by nightfall, he returned back in through the window he left from ;)
Dr. Liz - Kikfrd, yes, exactly. Sighing wistfully I observe, he used to have such PERFECT poops!!!!
Helen - ah well some of them just can't handle the raw , good thing she gets a turkey neck in the ams.

Dr. Liz - Di, yes, mostly, the dog is correct in what s/he is refusing ... except sometimes when the refusal is for a different reason than well-being ...

Dr. Liz - Mr. Smudge has been wanting to dig beneath pine trees, that's a sure sign of kidney/toxicity issues. I love how they know what they need.

Dr. Liz - So I would REALLY like him to get back on the raw food diet.
Helen - the digging is specific to the tree or just the digging?

Dr. Liz - Helen, it's specific to the tree or herb or bush or root they're seeking out.
Dr. Liz - Dee. I'm using homeopathy ... nux vomica at the moment.
Helen - ah that would explain the rosemary bush that no longer lives on my deck.

Dee & "kids" - Does Mr Smudge understand what he needs to do for his health??
Dr. Liz - Or grass.
Helen - ya pretty hysterical to see both of them knawing on the stems.
Dr. Liz - Dee, he ran wild for a period of time. He knows what to do for his health. He also will scoff a chicken bone in the grass faster than any dog I've ever had. Which is part of the problem going on now ... he found a pizza crust and also a cooked chicken bone on the ground on Trash Day here and scoffed them both up faster than the person who was walking him then could handle. So now we're dealing with what we're dealing with.

Dr. Liz - We're not too far away from snow-time here ... he's the funniest dog in the world the way he "eats" snow ... he runs along with his mouth open like a shovel scooping it into his mouth while he runs ... TOOOOO funny ....
kikfrd - I can only imagine how that conversation went! LOL!
Dee & "kids" - we have to be careful here, we usually throw out left-over food out to the animals in the woods nearby - no cooked bones tho...every once in a while Jake will grab something, and before you can see what it was, its GONE!

Dr. Liz - Dee, that's precisely what happens here ... Mr. Smudge is also the fastest and most discriminating trash bag sniffer/picker I've never met ... he can tell from 15 yards exactly what Trash Bag he wants, and in a split second can have it open, having retrieved what he wants, and be on his way ...
Dr. Liz - I can easily envision how he evaded capture for the apparent length of time he did avoid it and also how he kept himself fed...
Helen - well he was waiting for you was he not.
Dr. Liz - Dee, Mr.S. loved his raw food up until about a week ago.
Dr. Liz - Helen, Mr. S. was gifted to me through Tanaka and Alex. I am so grateful he is in my life.

Dr. Liz - It was an emotional thing for them, very clearly, because nutritionally Mr. S. was in terrible condition when I brought him home.

Dr. Liz - Dee, it HASN'T but he's HAPPIER!

Dr. Liz - So If we can balance the increased happiness and turn it into increased health ... then we've got something.
Dr. Liz - Dee, the better food I had been giving him brought him from a dog with over 30 diagnosed conditions to a dog with under 4 diagnosed conditions ... took him from being 10 pounds underweight with horrific fur and clouded eyes, and unable to walk up stairs, to a dog with exquisitely beautiful fur, clear eyes, and able to run.

Dr. Liz - oops c o c k e r spaniel ... this browser has an editor ... anyway some of the funniest stories involve Tanaka and either beer (which my daughter gave to him and I always eventually found out) or wine (he would go into my neighbor's house and jump up on her table and drink the partially empty wine glasses from her dinner parties the night before).

kikfrd - i really noticed serenity was getting very achey and needed more room to move around. I have now made her area larger using chicken wire and she is now able to hang out in the living room with fred and I.
Dr. Liz - LIke I love lying in the grass and looking at clouds ... which Mr. S. and I did last weekend for a brief period in between events ...
kikfrd - the other night I woke up, ever so briefly from a deep sleep, and i have a sneaking suspicion that fred and her were playing hide and seek

Dr. Liz - Di, I recently watched "Seven Years in Tibet" ... it's the movie based on the Heinrich Harrer book about his 7 years in Tibet with his HOliness the Dalai Lama ...
Dr. Liz - In it, the Dalai Lama says, "We Tibetans have a saying. If you cannot do anything about something, then there is no need for worry. And if you can do something about something, there is no need for worry there, either, just do the something you can do."

Dr. Liz - Very simple. Not easy for me, but very simply put. I've been very conscious about catching myself in the worry and asking those questions ... .can I do something about it? If no, then stop worrying. If yes, then do the thing, and stop worrying.

GirlyGirls - Liz, one of the nice silver linings in the CO poisoning from last year -- brain change? - is I don't worry, have the anxiety I used to have!
Dr. Liz - Di, it's quite similar to the serenity prayer. What's different is, when the Dalai Lama said that as a 14 year old boy, he was radiant and joyful. It never occurred to me until I saw the Dalai Lama say it in that way, that it was possible to say the serenity prayer from a place of radiant joy. I've always said it more as a prayer of petition.

Dr. Liz - GG, it never occurred to me to say the serenity prayer from a place of radiant joy until I heard HIs Holiness speak about the Tibetan belief on worry in that movie.
Dr. Liz - GG, if they are GOOD ... and they HEAL ... then don't things just get BETTER????

Dr. Liz - Imagine saying the serenity prayer as a prayer of decree, from the place of radiant joy ... joyfully, gratefully, radiantly saying, You, God, GIVE me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change (and isn't that just so wonderful that you do? How great), the courage to accept the things I cannot change, (and again this is just so great, you're so wonderful in helping me with this), and the wisdom to know the difference.
GirlyGirls - Boy, Liz that really helped! Thanks! It IS better. The poison healed my worry/anxiety . ..kind of homeopathic, because while I was being poisoned and didn't know, I was in an extreme state of stress/worry/anxiety/exhaustion. Huh. Interesting.

Dr. Liz - A couple of Chat'N'Prays ago, we discussed archtypes ... and I shared that an Archetype I work, is the Rescuer ... that the light side of that archetype, is the work that I do with people and animals ... and the dark side, is what I do in relationships, intimate ones, specifically, codependence.
Dr. Liz - The way we know what the archtypes are, is by the conversations or more correctly the conversational patterns that repeat thematically ... the detail may change but the themes or major conversations don't ...

Dr. Liz - I started to explore the codependent/rescuer conversational themes ... and I made a discovery ...
Dr. Liz - ... and experienced a moment of complete awareness ... and that is that the thining patterns of those who are addicted to chemical substances are extremely similar to those who are addicted to "people" ...
Dr. Liz - oops ... thinking patterns not thining patterns ...
Dr. Liz - ... codependents I mean ...
Jeanne - That makes sense it is still an addiction.

Dr. Liz - I've felt for some time that I've unwittingly been enabling my daughter in her behaviors ... and in the past two weeks, I understand now how I had been ...
Dee & "kids" - an addtive personality is addictive...to I guess anythiing
Di - the addict chases the drug, trying to control it......the codependent chases the addict chasing the drug, trying to control them
Dr. Liz - Dee, yes, I understand that now ... the thinking paterns are the same ... and we can either catch them via awareness, and let them go ... or not.
Jeanne - It's hard to stop being an enabler, also
Dr. Liz - Di, that is precisely the triangle my daughter and I were caught up in .. she was/is chasing the drugs ... and I was chasing her chasing the drug, trying to make her stop.
Dr. Liz - And when she got in trouble, needed money, needed a place to live, needed to be gotten out of a bleak situation, I was always there for her to bail her out. I see it now.
GirlyGirls - One cannot compete with an addiction, the addiction always wins
Dr. Liz - GG, one can, however, begin to recognize the patterns of thinking, and become conscious of them, and be at choice.
GirlyGirls - When I finally got it was when I had moved in with a boyfriend, and only then realized he had a pot addiction. I told him he had to stop, his behavior made me uncomfortable, or he would have to leave by the next week. He got angry and said he didn't like being controlled by me. And I said, no, the point is precisely this --- I have no desire to control you or your addiction, therefore, if you cannot, you must leave. Never looked back on that lesson. A good one.
Dr. Liz - One of our Team members mailed me a two-book book, called, Addictive Thinking and The Addictive Personality ... I've read the first book entirely and found myself as a co-dependent enabler on the pages of some of the stories ...
Dee & "kids" - GG- very strong of you
Di - it's so difficult to draw the line, especially with children. Yet you don't want to enable their way to the grave. If their needs are being met, why would they make change?
Dr. Liz - I had never seen the link between the 'addict' and the 'co-dependent' (enabler) before ... I see it so clearly now ... I am so grateful.
GirlyGirls - It didn't feel strong, it just felt clear.
Dr. Liz - Di, yes, that has been a great issue for me.
GirlyGirls - I didn't like that energy in my home, he had actually moved in with me (I said it wrong earlier) I just didn't have the energy for it.
Dr. Liz - GG, that was strong of you.
GirlyGirls - Everything is much, much more difficult when it involves one's children.

GirlyGirls - That's where the word "strong" really comes in.
Dr. Liz - Until I read that book, I never understood why I would go into shock at some of my daughter's behaviors. I understand that now, it's just what happens.
Dr. Liz - I also never understood why I was ao affected by her ingenious cunning and manipulation. I understand that now.
GirlyGirls - My cousin once had to refuse to bail her son out, got a call from police in Baltimore who said he was so polite and respectful, they hated to put him in the big house. . .1:30 a.m., and she said, No, I'm sorry, I have done everything I can for him, and I cannot do this, he has to find his own way. He made a choice.

GirlyGirls - I couldn't believe she was able to do it. It was so painful for her, but it was the right move. When she released that energy, he went through what he had to go through, got out of jail, and found his way to an incredible place "helping up mission" . It was for homeless with addiction problems. He healed there, and, though he still struggles to find stability, he's not using, has a job, just got an apartment. . .etc.
Dr. Liz - I've always known SHE was working the archetype of "addict" this life-time ... but because I've never been addicted to a chemical or other substance, I didn't realize that I am, too ... although from a different perspective ... being the mother of someone who is working the "addict" archetype ... and also, working the thinking through being codependent/enabling ... it's a heavy contract ...

Dr. Liz - GG, well spoken. Since I made the decision in July to not bail her out again, I have felt many openings and awarenesses and elevations happen.
Dr. Liz - I have awareness now unlike anything I've ever felt before. And yet every now and then, I still feel the pain of some of it.
GirlyGirls - And it will continue. The portal is fragile, however, so be mindful, aware. This is a high maintenance lesson to brake the pattern, okay?

Dr. Liz - I've let go of both. My job now is to catch my own thinking. GG, thank you.
GirlyGirls - They had done studies at UCLA, vibration of a normal person is around, say 75-84 mgh. . ..an addict vibrates between 17 and 24.

Dr. Liz - GG, you are correct. I have found what you have said to be completely true. When she and I are around each other, I feel VERY dragged down.

GirlyGirls - I know! This is what the standard medical folks are looking at. . .and we can discuss other aspects of vibration from where our consciousness sits.
GirlyGirls - So think about the lower frequency wave. . .so much slower, leaves so much more room for what I like to call the Bad Guys. . .bad energies, etc, confusions. . .to come right on in. This is why prayer, and what we do here is so important. This core group continually maintains our vibration at a high frequency to protect us and enhance our healing and light we give to others.
Dr. Liz - I felt like I was in a gutter somehow and wanting to get out of the suffocating, smothering sludge.
GirlyGirls - Old style religion would say "quicken the spirit"
GirlyGirls - When I heard about that study, I immediately thought of that expression
GirlyGirls - You were Liz.
GirlyGirls - That lower frequency wave is like a slow jump rope, you know, anybody can jump in! :-)
Dr. Liz - And then I would tell myself, Mother Teresa can be in gutters and be fine, then so can I. And I would ask, how did Mother Teresa do it? And the answer was always, she always asked, How can I serve? So I would ask, How can I serve? And it's taken me a long while to know the difference between serving and enabling.

GirlyGirls - You just have to be vigilant Liz, this is huge for you, and can pull you around a bit, backwards is not the direction you want to go. You can't turn back, not at all, okay? Trust. Keep walking with the Spirit.
GirlyGirls - Nicely put. You can write this book. I'm still thinking about your other one. But this could be huge for co-dependents. your awareness and expression and empathy is powerful.
Di - serving/doing for a person in an addiction robs them of thier own power/energy to do for themselves
GirlyGirls - As an intuitive, and I can compare with a number of very gifted ones like yourself.. .what sets you apart is your ability to truly feel the emotions of the people you read. Most others do not, because they would not be able to deliver the messages of their gift if they could feel how it made others feel to think about it. . .
Dr. Liz - GG, yes, it is huge for me. I just never thought walking with the spirit would look like turning my back on my daughter's apparent need. Di, yes, I understand that now.
GirlyGirls - Therefore, and I don't complain, I understand the need for it, they have a no nonsense, practical approach which is very good. But, sometimes, you really need someone to not just understand the yes and no of the circumstances and energies in thier lives, but to understand how it really feels for them to hear what you say, etc., and what they feel in general
GirlyGirls - You have this as part of your gift, you made an agreement somewhere down the line to feel with us. Most other intuitives could not go there, too, too hard.
GirlyGirls - So thank you for being able, and agreeing to feel with us. And we feel with you now.
